The challenges that Ethics must face today concern the future of all forms of life on our planet. Among the values to be considered above all, it seems to me that solidarity plays a fundamental role. In this regard, it is appropriate to make preliminary reference to the reflections of contemporary thinkers. The ethics of responsibility towards non-human living-beings must be inspired by the search for paradigms of co-existence capable of promotion of a common ontological dignity.
