This paper focuses on a first development of a smart-contract for a possible blockchain solution regarding the traceability problem of the agri-food supply-chain. This blockchain solution arises from a system engineering approach as a previous analysis, to understand what information needs to be traced along the agri-food supply-chain, according to the needs identified by consumers. A multi-layer networking solution was proposed with the interconnection of Hyperledger Fabric and other technologies, such as IoT devices. "Foodchain"is the chaincode developed and presented in this paper. It runs with a simulated environment in a cloud platform, using different Virtual Machines as the different actors of the agrifood supply-chain.
