Water quality is a crucial factor for human health. Chemicals used in agriculture and thus deployed in the environment, can lead to multi-level contamination, from groundwater to surface water, crops, vegetables, livestocks and, finally, humans. Groundwater can be contaminated by the percolation of chemicals which lead to vulnerability and pollution (e.g. wrongly managed waste sites). We present a GIS based framework to study land analysis data as well as water source quality and their impact on life style. In particular, the resulting framework has been used to report about analysis on agricultural areas. We describe results about correlation of food quality, diseases and environmental data (e.g. water sources). We applied our framework to relate river and water sources with geographical sites presenting pathogens. An epidemiological model inferring groundwater contamination and potential risks for life has been proposed. The idea is to use such a model to monitor potential risk areas having high impact on population health.

Abstract
The idea is to use such a model to monitor potential risk areas having high impact on population health.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
