This paper presents a tile-based approach to the design of satellite communications (SatCom) user terminals. The proposed approach is based on the use of small, modular tiles that can be easily assembled to create a large, highperformance antenna. The tiles are equipped with integrated beamforming with output in the digital domain. Thanks to this approach, it is possible to use such titles as a building block for a variety of applications, shifting the design complexity to the digital circuits rather than requiring a new RF board design. Our paper explores the key components and design principles behind the tile-based approach, emphasizing its adaptability, scalability, and robustness. We delve into the benefits of this approach, such as rapid deployment, reduced cost, and enhanced performance, which are particularly crucial in scenarios with dynamic communication needs.

Abstract
This paper presents a tile-based approach to the design of satellite communications (SatCom) user terminals. The proposed approach is based on the use of small, modular tiles that can be easily assembled to create a large, highperformance antenna. The tiles are equipped with integrated beamforming with output in the digital domain. Thanks to this approach, it is possible to use such titles as a building block for a variety of applications, shifting the design complexity to the digital circuits rather than requiring a new RF board design. Our paper explores the key components and design principles behind the tile-based approach, emphasizing its adaptability, scalability, and robustness. We delve into the benefits of this approach, such as rapid deployment, reduced cost, and enhanced performance, which are particularly crucial in scenarios with dynamic communication needs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
