Hilly ponds have had a great development in Italy in the second half of the last century, contributing to the water needs in agriculture and livestock farming in disadvantaged areas; in fact, they have allowed the replacement of low-income cultivation systems based on extensive cereal cultivation with more profitable fruit and vegetable systems. Hilly ponds can now find a new development, given the growing water crisis, in the accumulation, in whole or in part, of unconventional waters such as purified wastewater from small towns. In light of current legislation, criteria for the feasibility of such plants are therefore proposed.

Abstract
Hilly ponds have had a great development in Italy in the second half of the last century, contributing to the water needs in agriculture and livestock farming in disadvantaged areas; in fact, they have allowed the replacement of low-income cultivation systems based on extensive cereal cultivation with more profitable fruit and vegetable systems. Hilly ponds can now find a new development, given the growing water crisis, in the accumulation, in whole or in part, of unconventional waters such as purified wastewater from small towns. In light of current legislation, criteria for the feasibility of such plants are therefore proposed.File in questo prodotto:
