This book presents the systematization results of Latin American university models of social incubation in the field of the popular, social, and solidarity economy (epss). It is part of the incubepss project – Platform for the incubation of entrepreneurship and collaborative networks in the popular, social, and solidarity economy with a territorial approach – developed by four universities: the National University of Quilmes (Argentina), the Cooperative University of Colombia, the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, and the Technological Institute of Costa Rica. The study aims to strengthen the individual and collective capacities of epss actors and networks, fostering the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of their ventures. The research process involved surveying academic and territorial experiences, analyzing and interpreting the data collected. This enabled the identification of university-supported incubation methodologies, recognition of common elements in learning strategies, and formulation of viability hypotheses regarding the conditions necessary for incubation in collaboration with communities. As a result, a training proposal was consolidated as a baseline for the development of a collaborative digital platform. This open-source platform offers self-assisted courses facilitated by universities and includes a selective support strategy through specialized mentoring. The outcomes of this strategy will be evaluated to generate new knowledge. The text explores the epss approach in university experiences, the pedagogical perspective of incubation, debates on entrepreneurship incubation, and the proposed device that integrates these approaches and methodologies. Additionally, it reflects the challenge of balancing pedagogical accessibility with academic rigor to substantiate the research findings.
Popular, social and solidarity economy; social incubation; associative entrepreneurship - training strategies.
