The paper deals with the study of the ancient cult building of Sant’ Adriano located in the municipality of San Demetrio Corone (CS) through recently conducted 3D survey operations. The monument, part of an ancient Ita- lo-Greek monastery, presents itself today with numerous superfetations, the re- sult of architectural transformations that make its reading complex. Its interior preserves valuable artistic evidence from the Byzantine and Norman periods, including the floor mosaic and fresco cycles distributed along the arches. The documentary sources that have come down to us do not offer sufficient data for an interpretation of the structural changes that took place. Hypotheses about the evolution of the monument have been diverse and recently read from an archaeological perspective. In the past, various scholars made the neces- sary surveys with the means at their disposal and based their readings on these. Today, the use of 3D measurement methods with the use of laser scanner and photogrammetric technique, have returned a metrically reliable dataset, posing as a useful documentation both to ‘archive’ the factual situation and preserve its digital memory, and to deepen the study of architectural features and offer new interpretative insights.
