The investigations carried out by the University of Calabria at the sanctuary of “Area delle Fate” in Rose, commenced in 2024, were dictated by the necessity to expand the area between the two 2023 trenches, located respectively in the SE sector (Trench I) and the NW sector (Trench II). The aim was to allow for a better understanding of the stratigraphic sequence in an area partially investigated in 2014, which had seen the removal of a massive collapse layer. The exploration in this sector allowed for the identification of the deposition/occupation levels contemporaneous with the sacred building, as well as the earliest phase, which involves the exploitation of the bedrock through the creation of numerous pits and postholes.

Abstract
The investigations carried out by the University of Calabria at the sanctuary of “Area delle Fate” in Rose, commenced in 2024, were dictated by the necessity to expand the area between the two 2023 trenches, located respectively in the SE sector (Trench I) and the NW sector (Trench II). The aim was to allow for a better understanding of the stratigraphic sequence in an area partially investigated in 2014, which had seen the removal of a massive collapse layer. The exploration in this sector allowed for the identification of the deposition/occupation levels contemporaneous with the sacred building, as well as the earliest phase, which involves the exploitation of the bedrock through the creation of numerous pits and postholes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
