The paper presents a methodology for analysing accessibility levels to main transport networks in polycentric and marginal territories, where limited connections affect social inclusion and territorial equity. The method, based on isochronic analysis implemented in a GIS environment, evaluates accessibility from motorway and railway nodes. Applied to the Regions of Abruzzo and Calabria, the framework identifies areas of greater functional marginality and internal disparities. The results aim to support regional strategic planning and the integration of mobility, essential services, and spatial development, offering a replicable model for promoting fair and sustainable development in peripheral contexts.

Abstract
The paper presents a methodology for analysing accessibility levels to main transport networks in polycentric and marginal territories, where limited connections affect social inclusion and territorial equity. The method, based on isochronic analysis implemented in a GIS environment, evaluates accessibility from motorway and railway nodes. Applied to the Regions of Abruzzo and Calabria, the framework identifies areas of greater functional marginality and internal disparities. The results aim to support regional strategic planning and the integration of mobility, essential services, and spatial development, offering a replicable model for promoting fair and sustainable development in peripheral contexts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
