SUMMARY: In Calabria (near Vibo Valentia town) marine deposits at the toe of a cliff describe the beginning of a transgression with carbonate sediments (upper Miocene) and contemporary suggest a strong evolution of morphology of a steep coastal slope; also due to intense seismic-tectonic activity. Landslides and debris avalanche characterize the depositional body and also many large sedimentary veins, formed by real fossil accumulation, pas through both sedimentary basement and adjacent cliff, exclusively formed by high grade gneisses.

Abstract
SUMMARY: In Calabria (near Vibo Valentia town) marine deposits at the toe of a cliff describe the beginning of a transgression with carbonate sediments (upper Miocene) and contemporary suggest a strong evolution of morphology of a steep coastal slope; also due to intense seismic-tectonic activity. Landslides and debris avalanche characterize the depositional body and also many large sedimentary veins, formed by real fossil accumulation, pas through both sedimentary basement and adjacent cliff, exclusively formed by high grade gneisses.File in questo prodotto:
