In this paper the analysis of radiation from known current distributions placed on a dielectric coated elliptic conducting cylinder has been effected. The analysis is carried out considering the expansion of the field as a series of Mathieu functions. The presence of the current is taken into account in the boundary conditions at the air-dielectric interface. The behavior of the radiated field as a function of the minor over major axis ratio of the elliptic conducting cylinder has been investigated and discussed.
