Abstract
This article presents a new interpretation of the paintings of the “Tomb of the Ducks” at Veio, analyzing them through a symbolic language that from the Iron Age to the historical period was continually being enriched by new elements. Monuments and hand-made items are thus re-examined to reconstruct original elements of Etruscan religious ideology. The leading role of the ornithomorphic and solar symbolism, which aspire to guarantee one’s expectations about the afterlife, clearly emerges.File in questo prodotto:
