An investigation of the static behavior of long-span cable-stayed bridges with A-shaped towers is developed. Approximate analytical solutions of the basic static's equations are given by using a continuous model of the bridge, which allows us to express, by simple formulae, the more significant stress and deformation characteristics. Hence, some comparisons between these results and those corresponding to the case of H-shaped pylons are given.
