Measures that can assume both positive and negative values are named signed measures. It has been shown (Ott et al., 1992) that some signed measures in turbulence are sign-singular, that is their sign reverses continuously on arbitrary finer scales. In this paper we show the presence of sign-singularities in the data obtained from the numerical solutions of a shell model which describes hydromagnetic turbulence. A relation between the cancellation exponent and the scaling exponents of the velocity structure functions is verified.

Abstract
Measures that can assume both positive and negative values are named signed measures. It has been shown (Ott et al., 1992) that some signed measures in turbulence are sign-singular, that is their sign reverses continuously on arbitrary finer scales. In this paper we show the presence of sign-singularities in the data obtained from the numerical solutions of a shell model which describes hydromagnetic turbulence. A relation between the cancellation exponent and the scaling exponents of the velocity structure functions is verified.File in questo prodotto:
