In order to describe thekind of relation that Peirce entertainswith writing, we show themetaphysical (objective idealism) andepistemological (mathematics’ role asleading science) basis of hisrationalism in philosophy of language. We can thus explain why he created aform of writing or notation (theexistential graphs) that has nothing toshare with natural languages, whichbecame his favorite tool for selfcontrolledand scientific thought.

Abstract
In order to describe thekind of relation that Peirce entertainswith writing, we show themetaphysical (objective idealism) andepistemological (mathematics’ role asleading science) basis of hisrationalism in philosophy of language. We can thus explain why he created aform of writing or notation (theexistential graphs) that has nothing toshare with natural languages, whichbecame his favorite tool for selfcontrolledand scientific thought.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
