John Dewey tra educazione e democrazia

The author develops a brief profile of John Dewey based on the relationship between philosophy, education and democracy, which represents the fil rouge of Deweyan works. In fact, the American philosopher’s thought develops since its origins by linking his pragmatism to the educational problems and to the definition of democracy. In this perspective, Dewey is the author of a “copernican revolution” in the school, since that the child is the center of the educational relationship.

L’autore sviluppa un breve profilo di John Dewey basato sul rapporto filosofia-educazione-democrazia che rappresenta il filo conduttore dell’intera opera deweyana. In effetti il pensiero del filosofo americano si sviluppa sin dalle origini legando il suo pragmatismo alle problematiche educative e alla definzione della democrazia. In questa prospettiva Dewey è l’autore di una “rivoluzione copernicana” nella scuola, in quanto il bambino si pone al centro del rapporto educativo.
