Educazione e democrazia: le radici del pensiero di John Dewey per la società globale contemporanea

The education-democracy relationship exists in Dewey’s thought since the origin of his reflections. From School and Society of 1899 to Democracy and Education of 1916 and Experience and Education of 1938, we always find a constant relationship between philsoophy, education and democracy. Above all, we find the relationship between the individual, the community and the state which represent the fundamental question on which we must base the philosophy of our time for the society of globalization.

Nel pensiero di Dewey è presente il rapporto educazione-democrazia sin dalle origini della sua riflessione. Da Scuola e società del 1899 a Democrazia e educazione del 1916, a Esperienza e Educazione del 1938 ci si trova sempre un costante rapporto tra la filosofia, l’educazione e la democrazia. Soprattutto ci si trova di fronte al rapporto tra individuo, comunità, stato che rappresentano la questione fondamentale su cui si deve basare la filosofia del nostro tempo per la società della globalizzazione.
