We analyze the contribution of human capital to performance, by means of the effect of novel human capital, and the contribution of the replacement of current human capital. We empirically observe that novel human capital must be characterized by high experience in order to positively contribute to performance (since high amount of new employees’ experience are positively related to performance, while low level of new employees’ experience are negatively related to performance, U-shaped relationship). Furthermore, we observe that the replacement of current human capital has a positive moderation effect on the relationship between strategic human capital and performance.

Abstract
We analyze the contribution of human capital to performance, by means of the effect of novel human capital, and the contribution of the replacement of current human capital. We empirically observe that novel human capital must be characterized by high experience in order to positively contribute to performance (since high amount of new employees’ experience are positively related to performance, while low level of new employees’ experience are negatively related to performance, U-shaped relationship). Furthermore, we observe that the replacement of current human capital has a positive moderation effect on the relationship between strategic human capital and performance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
