The deconfinement phase transition in finite-temperature lattice gauge theories (LGTs) has attracted a lot of attention in the last three decades. Inthis paper we concentrate on Z(N)LGTs, which are interesting on their own and can provide for useful insights into the universal properties of SU(N) LGTs, being Z(N)the center subgroup of SU(N).
