Abstract

This work attempts to contribute a descriptive study to an area of research that explores a typology of the functions that define the translator’s voice. The translators try to help the readers and the aim of this article is to see how the Italian translators of Les Chardons du Baragan remarkably highlight the author’s poetics of oppression. Attention will be devoted to the translation of this specific Istrati’s « image-refrain », the thistles, and to the different clarification strategies used by Paolo Casciola and Gianni Schilardi.
