Seismic activity in active volcanic environment consists of many different kind of signals. Volcano-tectonic earthquakes (VT), low frequency earthquakes (or long period, LP), explosion quakes and volcanic tremor are the most common endogenous sources (McNutt, 2005; Chouet, 2003). Landslides and rockfalls are frequently observed on steep volcanoes and caldera walls, due to slope failures.

Abstract

Seismic activity in active volcanic environment consists of many different kind of signals. Volcano-tectonic earthquakes (VT), low frequency earthquakes (or long period, LP), explosion quakes and volcanic tremor are the most common endogenous sources (McNutt, 2005; Chouet, 2003). Landslides and rockfalls are frequently observed on steep volcanoes and caldera walls, due to slope failures.
