Underwater archeology is a particular branch of archeology that deals exclusively with the study of remains and artifacts submerged and in particular of their discovery, recovery and consequent conservation. This discipline has as its purpose the study of past life, behaviors and cultures, carried out through the physical remains found in salt water or soft or buried under sediment. In recent years the interest in underwater archeology has increased considerably, and with it the discovery of artifacts, shipwrecks and entire underwater archaeological areas. In this context, we present the results of a preliminary study performed out on the underwater archaeological heritage, based on research and analysis of some of the most important underwater archaeological sites spread around the world. Therefore, the collected material was organized through the development of a series of descriptive card that are able to provide, for each site examined, information on its geographical location, its typological characteristics, as well as its causes and its consequent discovery.

Abstract
Therefore, the collected material was organized through the development of a series of descriptive card that are able to provide, for each site examined, information on its geographical location, its typological characteristics, as well as its causes and its consequent discovery.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
