The Franciscan complex of St. Bernardino of Siena in Amantea was studied following a methodological approach set to a cognitive analysis articulated interdisciplinary and aims to highlight connections between the information collected. The study begins by illustrating the reconstruction of the historical and urban context in which it is located due to the numerous event that have significantly modified it over time. Subsequently, the study focuses on the historical-architectural description and on the identification of the main forms of deterioration. Especially the external side of the monument is characterized by different from of structural deficiency, due to crushing phenomena affecting, above all, the arches of the cloister. In particular, the constituent materials of the structures were examined from the physical point of view, by means of micro-analysis of laboratory carried out on representative samples. Finally some considerations relating to the interventions of temporary shoring, made previously at the restoration project, are reported.
