Democrazia tra educazione e Scienza in John Dewey

I n this art i cle, we wi ll discuss the relat ionship between education and democracy , scient i fic method and industrialization. To do this we will highlight D ewey ’ s explanat ion of how democracy can and shoul d be revitalized as a means of creating a good societ y . Democracy , according to D ewey , is a way of l i fe, where freedom i s ex pressed i n human behaviour and where social equalit y is the result of the growth of individuals and communities. This is something that shoul d not be overlooked, as it highlights the challenge that democracy offers to education and the challenge that education offers to social polit ics.

Nel presente articolo verrà descritto il rapporto tra democrazia, educazione , metodo scientifico, ndustrializzazione nel pensiero deweyano. Una relazione che nasce in Dewey con la finalità rpecisa di dare vita ad una società democratica che a sua volta tuteli il bene sociale. La democrazua, infatti, è la sola forma di governo idonea a tutelare i diritti di ciascun individuo e della collettività tutta. Ma può farlo solo attraverso l'educazione. Educazione che può limitare le differenze generate dall'economia.
