Abstract

Object-oriented analysis (OOA) endeavors to model and study a given problem domain, within the context of stated goals and objectives, in terms of a collection of interacting entities. With respect to traditional analysis techniques, which are based on functional decomposition, OOA shifts attention more toward data contained in objects rather than functions. The goal is to foster a seamless development process, i.e., an O-O system lifecycle, where the same ideas and entities naturally migrate from the requirement phase down to the implementation phase.
