It is known that the organic matrix from the "mature" thermal mud is produced by the metabolism of microflora, growing on claysubstrate, in intimate contact with hyperthermal sulphur water. The aim of the research is to characterize some lipid components from this organic matrix, particularly β-carotene, Vitamin A and E by HPLC and spectrophotometric analysis. These compounds could act as antioxidants and activators of epithelium repairing activities. The abundance of these compounds and the characteristic activity of sulphur derivatives in thermal sulphur mud, is of widespread interest in the dermatological field.

Abstract
It is known that the organic matrix from the "mature" thermal mud is produced by the metabolism of microflora, growing on claysubstrate, in intimate contact with hyperthermal sulphur water. The aim of the research is to characterize some lipid components from this organic matrix, particularly β-carotene, Vitamin A and E by HPLC and spectrophotometric analysis. These compounds could act as antioxidants and activators of epithelium repairing activities. The abundance of these compounds and the characteristic activity of sulphur derivatives in thermal sulphur mud, is of widespread interest in the dermatological field.File in questo prodotto:
