In the wake of a brief critical review about the literature available on the subject, the article proposes the following thesis: the relationship between Wittgenstein and Sraffa does not deteriorate, as is often claimed, for personal reasons, as rather for purely theoretical stances. Sraffa and Wittgenstein’s divergent views pertain to the role to be taken on by the historical dimension in the description of language games and forms of human life. Fascinated by the thought of O. Spengler, Wittgenstein ends up underestimating this aspect, at the risk of producing an anthropology deprived of history.

Abstract
In the wake of a brief critical review about the literature available on the subject, the article proposes the following thesis: the relationship between Wittgenstein and Sraffa does not deteriorate, as is often claimed, for personal reasons, as rather for purely theoretical stances. Sraffa and Wittgenstein’s divergent views pertain to the role to be taken on by the historical dimension in the description of language games and forms of human life. Fascinated by the thought of O. Spengler, Wittgenstein ends up underestimating this aspect, at the risk of producing an anthropology deprived of history.File in questo prodotto:
