Inthiswork,thepost-bucklinganalysisofthin-walledbeamsbyusingtheGeneralizedBeamTheory(GBT)ispresented.Tothispurpose,ageometricallynonlinearGBTfiniteelementisdevelopedbyex-ploitingthefeaturesofmixed-stressGBTfiniteelementformulationintheframeworkoftheImplicitCorotationalMethod(ICM).TheapplicationoftheICMtoGBTisbrieflydiscussedandthedetailsneces-sarytosuccessfullytransformthelinearGBTfiniteelementinitsnonlinearcounterpartareillustrated.Thenumericalresultsshowhowtheproposedfiniteelementcandealwithglobalanddistortionalgeo-metricallynonlinearphenomena,ingoodaccordancewithrespectto3Dshellmodels.
