Continuità e discontinuità nelle istituzioni corciresi

The paper aims at offering an historical evaluation of the process of birth and development of the institutional structure of the ancient polis of Corcyra. Once assessed the debts of the Corinthian colony, in institutional terms, towards its mother-city, the paper analyses the points of continuity and discontinuity, and their historical causes. Attention is also devoted to the autonomous development of the Corcyrean institutional forms, as it is possible to deduct from a comparison between the epigraphic documentation, and the frameworks determined from the historiographic reports of specific moments of the history of the island.

Il saggio si propone di offrire una valutazione storica del processo di genesi e sviluppo delle istituzioni dell’antica polis di Corcira. Precisati i debiti della colonia corinzia, in termini istituzionali, nei confronti della madre patria, si analizzano i punti di continuità e discontinuità e le loro motivazioni storiche. Particolare attenzione è, inoltre, dedicata allo sviluppo autonomo delle forme istituzionali corciresi quale è possibile ricostruire dal confronto fra la documentazione epigrafica e i quadri desumibili dai resoconti storiografici di momenti peculiari della vicenda storica dell’isola.
