The article presents the preliminary results of research focused on the relationship between oral and visual expression, collating the life stories of young artists from the Congolese Diaspora who now mostly live in Belgium and France. The research aims to outline the numerous thresholds crossed by individuals and to study the different visions and expressions of this process. Even today, after living in Europe for many years, these artists still seem to live on the threshold, facing the controversial Congolese past and recalling it through the personal and public experience of performance.
