The catalytic performance of nickel-cobalt supported on ceria-doped gadolinia (GDC) catalyst in the single and in the simultaneous methanation of CO and CO2 was investigated. The catalysts were prepared by impregnation method, starting from metal salts precursors. The temperature considered for methanation tests ranged from 200°C-600°C. The results showed that the prepared and optimized catalysts possessed the main characteristics of materials suitable for solid oxide electrolyzer cells applications, that is high metal content (50% wt/wt with respect to the support), high activity, and high stability. The catalytic performance of bimetallic catalysts highlighted that the cobalt did not improve the activity of the nickel catalysts.

Abstract
The catalytic performance of nickel-cobalt supported on ceria-doped gadolinia (GDC) catalyst in the single and in the simultaneous methanation of CO and CO2 was investigated. The catalysts were prepared by impregnation method, starting from metal salts precursors. The temperature considered for methanation tests ranged from 200°C-600°C. The results showed that the prepared and optimized catalysts possessed the main characteristics of materials suitable for solid oxide electrolyzer cells applications, that is high metal content (50% wt/wt with respect to the support), high activity, and high stability. The catalytic performance of bimetallic catalysts highlighted that the cobalt did not improve the activity of the nickel catalysts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
