Abstract
This paper intends to verify new theoretical paths linked to the connection between theater and images in Renaissance culture, underlining the function of ekphrasis of the scene that dramaturgy undertake in the Italian and Elizabethan theater. The interplay between the scene figurative dimension and the dramaturgy ekphrastic contribution achieved in the agreement between scenic space (which includes the places pictured in the scenography) and figurative elements materially absent from the scene, revealed by the spectator prompted by the dramaturgical ekphrasis. Intertwining between sight and imagination that supports the requirement for verisimilitude and mimesis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
