The article deals with the relationship between Dante and Virgil in Canto XIII of the Inferno. The Virgilian presence is reinforced through new references to the Polydorus episode in the final part of the canto. Especially decisive appears to be the mediation of Servius in Dante’s reading of the Virgilian episode.
