The paper examines the transformations underway in the automotive sector, starting with the Stellantis case-study. Using a case study will help to understand if and how trade unions and workers are reacting to social transformations, which are also the effect of the decline of the working class. In the text, the author will analyse the hypothesis that the current passivation, or lack of resistance, is, on the one hand, the result of organizational changes within the union and the various industrial relations developed in recent decades. By reproducing excerpts from the interview, we will try to simultaneously test the effects of rhetoric and discipline and the invention of new resistance practices.

Abstract
The paper examines the transformations underway in the automotive sector, starting with the Stellantis case-study. Using a case study will help to understand if and how trade unions and workers are reacting to social transformations, which are also the effect of the decline of the working class. In the text, the author will analyse the hypothesis that the current passivation, or lack of resistance, is, on the one hand, the result of organizational changes within the union and the various industrial relations developed in recent decades. By reproducing excerpts from the interview, we will try to simultaneously test the effects of rhetoric and discipline and the invention of new resistance practices.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
