The paper aims to highlight how the presence of a system of so-called rogge, artificial canals that enabled the spinning of the wheels of Rovereto’s industrial plants, has “indirectly” conditioned the urban development of some areas of the town. Not far from the block in which manufacturing activities along the canals excelled, among which the prominent one related to silk, some new segments of the urban landscape were redefined or entirely planned in terms of rationalism and civic prestige.
