In this study, I support the claim that the practice of translation can help us to approach in an original way the reception of Simenon and Yasmina Reza in Italy. This book adresses how the Italian readers perceive Simenon and Reza and how to say what the « abyss » and the contemporary middle class issues are through the paratexts and the filter of translation. It has as its purpose the analytical delineation of the debates concerning the tyranny of reason and the description of the current problems encountered to convert a work into another language. As a result, this book's conclusion calls for a comparatism with other languages that seeks an answer to the question who introduces who and how to analyse the enunciative and creative dimension of translation in the domains of philosophy and art.
