The text can exist only thanks to the rules on which to base the sign aggregation processes where without a sign, but even more without the rules of combination, there would be no text. Therefore, the text is made up of signs not considered individually but as a correlated whole which is realized as such thanks to the observation of a series of rules that make that whole work. Text semiotics is paradoxically considered an ancillary discipline to semiotics (like other specific semiotics) while in reality it has all the credentials to place itself on a higher level.
