The contribution, assuming the vision of the spread of the Coronavirus in the first wave, presents data on the contagion and territorial aspects of the province of Cosenza, presenting it as an example in Calabria. The objective is to show the territorial specificities of this region that may have affected the intensity of the infection of Covid-19, highlighting the fragility of the population distribution, the strong commuter connectivity and the organizational structure of health and assistance structures. These fragilities must be considered in order to envisage a new, more balanced and sustainable way of living in the territories.

Abstract

The contribution, assuming the vision of the spread of the Coronavirus in the first wave, presents data on the contagion and territorial aspects of the province of Cosenza, presenting it as an example in Calabria. The objective is to show the territorial specificities of this region that may have affected the intensity of the infection of Covid-19, highlighting the fragility of the population distribution, the strong commuter connectivity and the organizational structure of health and assistance structures. These fragilities must be considered in order to envisage a new, more balanced and sustainable way of living in the territories.
