The paper tries to document two cases of dialogue between Tibullus and Martial through a linguistic, literary, and intertextual analysis. In Mart. 5,22,10 the return of the verse-end esse domi, already in Tib. 2,6,48 could be oriented in an elegiac direction, among other things, by the ianitor, a character consistent with the elegiac world. The reuse of Tib. 1,5,30 in Mart. 14,193 could have similarities with the appropriation of the Tibullan text in Ov. am. 3,9 (the famous epicedion for Tibullus himself), in a potential textual triangulation. A similar example of Ovid’s mediatory role in Martial’s reuse of Tibullus was identified by A. Fusi speaking of Tib. 1,1,2, Ov. am. 3,15,12 (as programmatic as 3,9) and Mart. 1,116,2.
