The contribution analytically discusses all the problems concerning the constitutio textus of (Tib.) 3,15, which did not find particular space in Fulkerson’s and Maltby’s commentaries (Tränkle has dwelt on them somewhat more). In particular, the transmitted form of the final pentameter, viewed with suspicion in Tränkle and Luck’s important editions, is defended on the basis of contextual, linguistic and intertextual arguments.
