DiALeCTUS aims to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Calabria by conserving and restoring sound documents of linguistic, ethnomusical, and cultural interest. The project aims to acquire and map dialects in Calabria, offering an innovative model designed to complement traditional paper-based dialect atlases. The decision to create an archive rather than a dialect atlas reflects the central importance attributed to the sound document, regarded as a cultural asset with relevance across multiple disciplinary fields. Furthermore, sound transcends the various phonetic interpretations and personal phonological categorizations often imposed by written formats. The analysis and study of the archive materials will represent a subsequent phase of the project, engaging scholars from various disciplines. The archive is divided into two sections: new acquisitions and old recordings. The latter have been subjected to the digitization process to ensure their preservation. The portal organizes and provides access to materials via thematic macro-areas, and includes a search engine that enables efficient and immediate consultation.

Abstract
The portal organizes and provides access to materials via thematic macro-areas, and includes a search engine that enables efficient and immediate consultation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
