How can argumentative writing in a foreign language be successful? What does effective writing training look like? And what impact does it have on learners' other languages? In particular, tertiary language teaching, which specifically promotes language awareness in terms of language use and language learning processes, offers favourable conditions for the positive effects of writing training in a multilingual context. This is precisely what this monograph investigates. Its analysis from a product- and process-oriented perspective provides insights into the interplay of several languages and strategies in text production in different languages. The results show the positive effects of writing training in the tertiary language German in terms of learners' performance and their handling of writing processes and strategies. An important effect is the strengthening of students' awareness of the resources of their own multilingual repertoire. Once awakened, this awareness leads directly to a more intensive use of existing skills.

Abstract
Once awakened, this awareness leads directly to a more intensive use of existing skills.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
