This paper presents a microstrip gap sensor designed for dielectric spectroscopy in microfluidic applications. The sensor enables the characterization of fluid properties based on the electrical permittivity using microwave measurements. Unlike conventional techniques, the sensor operates in a broadband manner and relies solely on the transmission coefficient, eliminating the need for de-embedding procedures. The experimental results demonstrate the sensor's performance and highlight the trade-off between frequency range (from 0.2GHz up to 6GHz) and accuracy.

Abstract
This paper presents a microstrip gap sensor designed for dielectric spectroscopy in microfluidic applications. The sensor enables the characterization of fluid properties based on the electrical permittivity using microwave measurements. Unlike conventional techniques, the sensor operates in a broadband manner and relies solely on the transmission coefficient, eliminating the need for de-embedding procedures. The experimental results demonstrate the sensor's performance and highlight the trade-off between frequency range (from 0.2GHz up to 6GHz) and accuracy.File in questo prodotto:
