This essay uses three of the six verbs indicated in the title as its incipit: Use, Grasp, Select. The reason for the choice is given by their traceability, respectively, to Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951), Gottlob Frege (1848-1925), Ferdinand de Saussure (1857-1913) and by the fact that all three verbs relate to the central theme of a very important portion of the thought of the aforementioned scholars. This is the question inherent to the formation and/or emergence of meaning and which, in order, can be traced back to the use of words in language (Wittgenstein); to the need to grasp thoughts located in the third realm (Frege); to the selection of linguistic values placed on the associative or paradigmatic level (Saussure) Keywords: Use; Meaning; Judgment; Selection; Combination.
