The contextual factors that have reshaped the form of the family are multiple and intersect with economic, cultural and technological transformations. In recent years we have witnessed an increase in the practice of smart working, a formula of work flexibility that has spread during the pandemic period, also proposing itself as an attempt to reconcile work and private life. The impact of smart working on the productivity and optimization of companies gives a seemingly idyllic picture; however, the fusion of the work and home contexts risks leading to an erosion of mutual boundaries. The physical presence of the person who works within the home, in fact, almost never coincides with a moment of effective reciprocity with the children or partner and can trigger insidious relational dynamics. Within the phenomenological educational approach it is therefore necessary to recall, also in the family, the dimensions of care and values that are experienced by the person through a process of emotional intuition that not only manages to grasp them but also to dictate a hierarchy.
