The Community Educational Pacts (CEPs) were introduced in Italy’s 2020–2021 School Plan as instruments to foster integration between schools and local communities. These pacts are formal agreements between local authorities, public and private institutions operating in the area, third-sector organizations, and schools. Their immediate objective is to identify and utilize alternative facilities and community spaces for educational and extracurricular activities. In a broader perspective, they aim to implement the principle of subsidiarity and shared educational responsibility. This paper presents a four-year longitudinal case study on the Community Educational Pact of the Istituto Comprensivo Spirito Santo in Cosenza, analyzing its four years of implementation. The study focuses on the local community actors involved, the participatory planning methods , and the perceived changes among key stakeholders. The objective is to illustrate how public and private actors can contribute to building and sustaining an educational community.
