In the context of an increasingly globalized world, perishable products are required to traverse increasingly longer distances. It is therefore essential to guarantee that the product reaches the end consumer in a condition that does not compromise its usability. In light of the constraints imposed by product quality, it is imperative to implement effective delivery management strategies that take into account the specific characteristics of the delivered products. This research reviews the existing literature on routing for perishable goods, examining not only the vehicle routing problem and its variants but also its integration with other logistical challenges. It reviews and discusses the mathematical formulations, solution methods, and datasets used in the analyzed models. Finally, perspectives for future research are outlined.

Abstract
Finally, perspectives for future research are outlined.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
