After a brief summary of the multifaceted and lasting relationship between Parini and Horace, this note aims to analyze the intertextual references of Horatian origin present in Parini’s ode "La Primavera", investigating the direct Horazisms of the lyric from the Horatians carm. 1.4 and 4.12, and the Horatian ascendancy mediated by the readings that Parini made of Petrarch, Frugoni and Metastasio, for example by rewriting the Horatian version of the Greek mythologem of Procne and Filomela.
