The essay introduces a group of unpublished letters by Bernardo Tasso, offering a reconstruction of the places and moments in which these documents intersect with the author’s dual professional and literary career. The concluding appen- dix provides the critical, annotated edition of the letters under examination, with the aim of clarifying the poet’s biographical and intellectual trajectory and of contributing to the reassembly – through epistolary dialogue – of a broad arc of the Renaissance season traversed by Tasso.
