Abstract
Scientific photography and cinema reduce gesture to an object of “knowledge”, while anti-psychiatry reinterprets it as bodily and psychic expression. This essay rethinks cinematic observation as a counter-device where gesture, freed from diagnostic categories, resists institutional control. New observational practices are needed today to film precarious life forms and capture what we call a second generalized catastrophe of gesturality.File in questo prodotto:
